National Cheesesteak Day is celebrated on March 24 every year to honor the classic sandwich. The exact origins of the cheesesteak are unclear, but it’s but it’s believed to have been invented in the early 20th century by Pat and Harry Olivieri, hot dog vendors in South Philly.
