Philly Steak Leader Turns Up the Heat with New Menu Item. Charley’s Grilled Subs introduces the Spicy Asian BBQ sandwich

Columbus, OH – On September 28, Charley’s Grilled Subs, the leader in hot, bold and made fresh Philly Steaks, will introduce a new Spicy Asian BBQ sandwich. Charley’s Spicy Asian BBQ will add a new ethnic flavor profile to its traditionally all-American line-up, while catching the Kogi-style consumer wave that’s sweeping the nation. The Spicy Asian BBQ will be available nationwide for a limited time.

Like all Charley’s steak sandwiches, the new Spicy Asian BBQ is made with 100 percent USDA Choice Steak. A Korean-inspired menu item, the sandwich features steak cooked in a rich marinade made from pears, green onions and Eastern spices — filling it with flavor as it hits the grill. Charley’s Spicy Asian BBQ is topped with provolone cheese and served on a warm sub.

I ordered the Spicy Asian BBQ earlier today from Charley’s in Dubai Festival City, UAE. Despite the fact that provolone cheese is one of the main components as per the poster on the counter, I was served the sub with mozzarella cheese. When I asked why, I was told that the poster pertained to subs served in the USA! Is the DFC Charley’s employing a cost-cutting mechanism even though this results in the delivery of a lower value than the one promised to the customer?

All of our sandwiches that would normally have provolone have mozzarella in our Middle east locations. Provolone isn’t readily available in bulk in the Middle East and thus doesn’t make it an option for our stores to carry it. We’ve done some extensive research to ensure that mozzarella is the optimum replacement choice for provolone. Sorry for the confusion caused by the sign!

Grandmas best organic Honey Lemonade Recipe: 1/2 gallon warm water, 1/2 cup honey, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice.
